The Current Recreated 21st RNBF Regiment

The current recreated 21st RBNF Regiment is a reenactment group based in central North Carolina.  The Fuzileers have been involved in research and reenactments for over 10 years.  We travel to the Maryland and Chesapeake area for the reenactments.  We look for avenues of interpretation in the Carolinas (demonstrations and Military-Through-the-Ages events), but the War of 1812 really did not reach this area.  We do careful research to make sure our uniform, equipment, and tactics are correct for this Regiment and period.  We are members of the Crown Forces-Chesapeake and the Brigade of 1812, groups that insure authenticity, and offer a palate with which to work.  We are in contact with the Royal Scots Museum in Glasgow, Scotland, which provides us with some of our information and research.  Several members have made the trip "over the pond" to view materials located there.  We do belong to a parent organization, the Society f Interpretive Historians, Inc. which is a non-profit 501(c) 3 educational foundation.

We are passionately looking forward to 2012, the Bicentennial of this War.  We will plan on more traveling as this date draws near, especially to Lower Canada, and New Orleans, La.

The members of the Regiment are always looking for men (families are welcome, even though historically were not present) interested in joining our ranks.  Please contact the Adjutant for any information, either about the recreated Regiment or about joining our ranks.
